Should i go to the doctor? I think i have whooping cough...? - more stuff on whooping cough

Recently, I developed the progressive deterioration of dry cough. It gets worse when I laugh and night. During 2 days (approximately 2 weeks before departure) was a mild sore throat.
During the last 3 months or, if a girl to TAFE I had with this single mad uncontrollable coughing in class, it is for specialists, and other things are intended, but not yet discovered what it was. Seems to have faded away, but I've read that hard to recognize pertussis.
I am not worried about me, I read that there is no cure, and you just have to wait outside (in the allergic to most antibiotics that are), but my work in customer service I really do not accidentally infect babies people go.
I do not know if I'm paranoid, like a mad doctor google: P
I also found this which is near where I live

Yes, sure if for no other reason than that there is something else. It is really never a good idea to diagnose, especially if something wrong will take more than one or two days. Two weeks is too long.

My wife had a completely different matter, and causes coughing and should be treated to go away.
